A Deluge System is a fixed fire protection system in which the discharge piping is dry. Water is discharged into these lines only upon activation of deluge valve.
The deluge valve can be activated by detection system such as sprinkler, smoke, heat, ultraviolet (UV), etc. The Rapidrop deluge system can also be activated by a hydraulic, electric, or manual release system or any combination of these release systems. But, in all cases, the deluge valve itself is activated hydraulically.
